Bureau of Consumer Finance Protection Proposed Records Schedule

Today a notice of the availability of records schedules for comments was posted in the Federal Register. This includes a proposed schedule, DAA-0587-2018-0001, from the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (BCFP), also known as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, covering website content duplicative of original information maintained by program offices.

NARA is in the final stages of the records scheduling process with BCFP to authorize a temporary disposition for copies of records posted to their website. In the interest of transparency and openness, we are making the proposed schedule and our appraisal memorandum available. You may download the proposed schedule here. and the appraisal report here.

The appraisal report is based on website review and discussions of agency business processes with BCFP. As with all agency schedules, this schedule will not be implemented until it is approved by the Archivist of the United States following a public notice and comment period.

Interested parties may submit comments on this schedule to request.schedule@nara.gov by 11:59 pm on December 31, 2018. We invite your comments on the appropriateness of the disposition instructions and retention periods of the records. When submitting comments, we encourage you to be specific in communicating your concerns and include your reasoning for any changes you recommend.
