We are pleased to announce the release of NARA Bulletin 2023-04, Managing Records Created on Collaboration Platforms.
We are issuing this bulletin to address agencies’ increased use of intra/inter-agency collaboration platforms to accomplish their missions. The capabilities of collaboration platforms are increasingly robust and can be used when working from any location. Within the federal government, these platforms provide an environment that supports rapid and effective collaboration. They have become a regular part of government work culture.
This bulletin addresses the management of federal records created when agencies use collaboration platforms.

I’m thinking that Digital Asset Management / Media (video, images, audio, etc.) solutions are ‘collaboration platforms’, i.e. Adobe DAM / Content Cloud. DAM solutions are used in a wide range of usage models, across training, CCTV, IC Surveillance, Agency marketing, etc., etc..
Based on my experience, RM for DAM solutions is a common ‘blind spot’ for Agencies. i.e. Though perhaps corrected by now, NGA had a mega-struggle with DAM RM….
