We are pleased to announce the release of a white paper on the records management implications of Quantum Information Science and Technology (QIST).
This is the third in a series of white papers—the first one being Blockchain (2019) and the second Cognitive Technologies (2020). Unlike previous white papers in which the technologies had a clearer connection to records management, the field of QIST is in its early stages, so the technological impacts for records management are evolving.
This white paper is intended to provide an introduction to QIST for federal records managers. Emerging quantum technologies could have big impacts in these areas of records management: cryptography, authentication, encrypted communication, storage of records, and records retrieval. Records managers may find this information helpful as QIST technology evolves and matures.

Of all the white papers done by NARA, this one is my favorite. Thanks.
