As a reminder, we are calling attention to the proposed digitization regulations for permanent records which were posted on the Federal Register for public review and comment. Comments are due on or before February 1, 2021. To make a comment, please follow the instructions in the Federal Register notice.
Additional information concerning this draft regulation was provided at the December 16, 2020 BRIDG meeting which is available on our YouTube channel.
These digitizing standards for permanent records ensure that agencies can continue to use digital versions for the same business purposes as the original records.
While digital imaging is popular and commonplace, we must remember it is an investment with potentially very high up-front costs.
