Request for Feedback on the ERM Federal Integrated Business Framework

As part of our ongoing Federal Electronic Records Modernization Initiative (FERMI) work, we have completed an annual review to update the Electronic Records Management (ERM) Federal Integrated Business Framework as required by the Business Standards Council where we serve as the standards lead for electronic records management.

We consulted with our interagency Requirements Working Group to identify changes for the Framework. Throughout the Framework, we updated terminology related to digital records. We also updated the Standard Data Elements to focus on those elements that would be needed by a shared service to manage records in the systems they operate. For example, we removed terms that were only used by NARA and do not need to be tracked by agencies.

We want to hear from you! What do you think should be added or updated in the ERM Federal Integrated Business Framework? We would like to receive feedback from a variety of stakeholders, so please share widely. You can submit comments through regulations.gov by August 19, 2024. If you have any questions, please sent them to rmpolicy@nara.gov
